Ok fall has arrived! Which means cool days, beautiful colors, and great clothing. So I’d like to touch on a rather delicate subject regarding fall clothing (especially since I never got around to screaming about summer fashions).
My big fall and winter wear concern is LEGGINGS (and tights)!
Yes those pretty little ditty’s you like to wear in the cooler months. They come in various fabrics, colors, styles. A lot of people like wearing them with longer sweaters which actually can create a great look.
But as with all things, there are some definite no-no’s:
- Leggings are NOT pants so please do not wear them with regular length blouses or sweaters. We do not want to see your panties underneath (or worse if you don’t happen to wear panties). Plus you may inadvertently be mistaken for a hooker (in case you are, carry on).
- Take into account the fabric of the leggings/tights are you wearing. Some are as sheer as pantyhose and thus might not fit with your particular dress style.
- On the other hand, if you’re dressed in a really nice dress, you may not want to wear the leggings in place of regular pantyhose. They will make you look umm matronly?
- This is a hard one but it must be said. Think about the shape of your legs before you decide to wear leggings. If you wouldn’t be caught dead in a long sweater or dress with your legs showing, remember that leggings are skintight so other than your skin not showing, everyone can see the dimples, lumps, and/or bulges when you wear them.
- And finally, please please make sure they are clean! That should go without saying but well, umm just a reminder. And if they have lint balls all over them, because that happens sometimes with that fabric under sweaters, just throw them out!!!
